Yuppies in the 80's

Yuppie is short for young urban professional. Seems like the term started being used in the 1980's. As seen in the 1987 fill Wall Street a yuppie is portrayed as a relatively young person in their 20's or 30's who has a successful career, drive very nice cars such and have high scale apartments or houses in places like New York City. The yuppie is definitely portrayed very well in the film American Psycho where actor Christian Bale is a very successful financial broker. Seems like the yuppie likes to work hard and play harder. A yuppie is definitely a big pop culture symbol of the 1980's. Yuppie is a term that I don't is used now and I am certain that the term died in the 1990's.
